Biography
Allie Littlefox currently serves as assistant vice chancellor, planning and innovation, in the Division of Student Life on Northeastern University’s Oakland campus, where she provides strategic leadership across comprehensive student life programming. In this role, she oversees Campus Sports and Recreation, the Center for Belonging, the Center for Student Involvement, Orientation and Family Programs, and Spiritual and Religious Life, centering holistic student engagement, leadership development, and creating transformative educational experiences.
Additionally, Littlefield provides general oversight of student life communications and daily operations, ensuring coordination across all student life departments. Her operational leadership encompasses strategic communications planning, cross-departmental collaboration, and the implementation of innovative practices that enhance the overall student experience while maintaining operational excellence.
Previously, Littlefox served as director of athletics, PE, and recreation and assistant dean of students for Mills College. During her tenure in the athletics department, she oversaw all aspects of NCAA compliance and eligibility, sports information and contest management, and academic support before being named director of athletics in 2018. Additionally, she was the NCAA senior woman administrator for both Mills College and the American Collegiate Athletic Association. She helped found the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference in 2020 and developed a new model for sports and recreation at Northeastern.
In 2021, she was promoted to the role of assistant vice chancellor to support the transition from Mills to Northeastern.
Throughout her career, Littlefox has centered student development and engagement. She has served on the NCAA DIII Interpretation and Legislation Committee, NCAA Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee, and the NADIIIA Education Committee, along with numerous campus committees. She was a mentor in the NCAA’s Student Immersion program for four years and completed the Women Leaders in Sports Institute for Administrative Advancement in 2015. She cultivates high-performing teams, champions staff development, and fosters environments where students and staff find joy in shared learning experiences.
Allie earned her B.A. from Wellesley College, where she majored in political science and philosophy and was a four-year member of the varsity softball team. She received an M.S. from Smith College in Exercise and Sport Studies, an M.A. from Mills College in Educational Leadership, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Mills College. Her dissertation focused on activism in athletics, specifically examining the transformative power of athletics participation—research that continues to inform her approach to student leadership and engagement today.
