Getting around off campus
When you’re ready to step off campus, our location in the heart of the East Bay and accessible transit options make it easy to explore all that the Bay Area has to offer.
Our Northeastern shuttle has stops in Oakland and the neighboring city of Berkeley, giving you reliable access to a wide variety of restaurants, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies, retail shops, and entertainment. The shuttle runs seven days a week during the academic year, with detailed schedules and real-time shuttle location updates available through the TripShot app.
The shuttle also connects you with a nearby Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station. The BART public transportation system provides fast, easy access to San Francisco and the peninsula, the East Bay, and North San Jose—helping you take advantage of the many exciting cultural and social events that happen year round.
In addition, city buses stop right outside our front gate. The AC Transit EasyPass you receive during orientation allows you to take the bus to explore the East Bay, San Francisco, and the peninsula. It’s simple and convenient, and taking the bus helps you lower your carbon footprint.
