Swing by Rothwell Center to pick up packages at the Mail and Copy Center, where you can also ship items and order premium printing and copy services. The central location makes it easy to stop on the way to or from class.
Addressing student mail and packages
Please read carefully before shipping mail and packages.
Send student mail to this address only, using the following format:
- Find your six-digit mail ID number in the Housing Online Portal after your housing has been assigned. (Students keep the same mail ID for the entirety of their time at Northeastern.)
- If your shipping label permits only three lines, include the student’s mail ID number after the last name (for example: Jane Smith 123456).
- Do not include “Northeastern University” or “Mills College at Northeastern University” in the mailing address.
- Mail and package receipt cannot be guaranteed for items addressed to residence halls or other campus buildings.
- Do not send mail and packages that will arrive earlier than one week prior to your scheduled move-in date.

Where is my mailbox?
We do not assign individual mailboxes. Students can pick up mail at the Mail and Copy Center during regular hours.
Can staff and faculty have personal mail or packages delivered to campus?
Staff and faculty should not have personal mail/packages shipped to campus; any items they have delivered to the Mail and Copy Center must be for business purposes. Campus residents, however, may have personal mail/packages shipped to campus.
Can I send personal mail or packages from the Mail and Copy Center?
Yes, anyone may use the Mail and Copy Center to send personal mail/packages. Please visit the center in person to discuss carrier rate options.
How do I send a package?
We send packages via FedEx and USPS. Please visit the Mail and Copy Center in person to get a quote for your shipment. We also accept packages for FedEx, USPS, and UPS that have been addressed with a prepaid label.
What courier do you recommend?
We accept deliveries from all major express couriers. Consider comparing couriers to find the best price, tracking, and insurance for your needs.
How do you handle emergency deliveries?
Overnight couriers deliver at various times during the day. If you are expecting an emergency delivery, let us know via email with as much advance notice as possible at [email protected] with “Important Delivery” in the subject line. If we know a package containing medication, for example, is coming via priority shipment, we can look for it and get it into the system more quickly.
What if a package for me is delivered after I move out?
Packages delivered after the move-out package receivables deadline will be returned to the sender if sent by UPS, USPS, or FedEx. Packages that cannot be returned (e.g., delivered directly by couriers) will be securely disposed of the day after they arrive. It is important for you to plan accordingly. You will receive a receivables deadline via email as you plan for move-out.
What happens to mail that’s delivered after I move out?
First-class mail will be forwarded to the address listed in your Housing Online Portal. We will securely dispose of third-class mail. Please note that we can only forward mail to addresses within the U.S. If a foreign address or no address is listed in the portal, first-class mail will be returned to the sender via USPS.
What if I forget to pick up a package?
Additional charges may apply to forward any packages left after the deadline.
Can I send mail to this campus during the summer?
Please update your information in the Housing Online Portal with the address where you will receive mail during the summer. We do not hold mail or packages received during summer.
What if I forget to update my address after leaving campus?
Mail and packages for students who do not have an updated address listed in the Online Housing Portal will be returned to the sender if possible or securely disposed.

Please send all print requests as PDF files. Questions? Send an email to [email protected] or stop by the center.
How long does it take to process a print job?
This depends on the size and requirements of the job (such as trimming or binding). It’s best to plan on two business days. Stop by in person with questions and urgent requests and we’ll see if we can accommodate you.
Can I email documents to the Mail and Copy Center for printing?
If you can’t visit in person, please send your files, print job specifications (quantity, color or black and white, etc.), and your budget index for billing to [email protected].
