Campus and location
Our campus
Northeastern University is for people who want to solve problems in the world.
Northeastern’s 135-acre Oakland campus, home to Mills College at Northeastern and the Mills Institute, is a green oasis with deep connections to a vibrant urban community.
The campus features 65 historic and contemporary buildings, many of which are award-winning. These buildings also house 47,600 square feet of academic and laboratory space.
Our city and region
Our faculty has longstanding ties to local academic, creative, and professional communities, and they can connect you with unique learning opportunities, cultural experiences, careers, and resources. Everywhere you turn, you’ll find activities that can inform and deepen your time with us, whether it’s in the classroom, in a research lab, or at work.
As part of Oakland, our campus affords students and faculty the opportunity to study, work, and live in one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the U.S.—one with an avant-garde arts scene, science and cultural opportunities, excellent cuisine, and a progressive, engaged community.
